I never really thought I was a failure, really. What I meant was, failing this course is not an option.
I hate hurting people I love. I read a thing on msn.com that advises girls to observe the way their boyfriends treat their (the boyfriends') mothers. It says that the boys will treat the girls in similar ways. For that reason, and also because it's just a good thing, I am trying to be better to Mom.
That doesn't sound like reason enough for you to have to intervene, but there might be other things you haven't told me. I wouldn't want to have to talk to her. I think I'd just calmly tell her, "There have been complaints, and I don't know your side of it, but you might try to humor people." Then I'd roll my eyes, like the people complaining are in the wrong, and I'd say, "Double flush or something, I dunno."
Ugh. I hate confrontation. If she refuses to listen, it's no longer your responsibility. You haven't been given any authority, not really. This can be a blessing, as you just take the next step, which is reporting her to your boss. Just tell him you talked to her on such and such a date, what you said, and that she hasn't listened.
Can I use your lighter fluid? I thought I saw a bottle of it in your room, but I can't find it anymore.
Its good you're trying to be better to Mom. I think for the most part though you are good to her. I need to try and be better to her also. I really dont know how she takes it all... Shes just such a loving and forgiving person. We all give her crap.

Yeah, one of the Resident Directors in another building suggested I talk to her by herself first. Find out whats really going on, just in case. THere are always 2 sides to every story.
