The week is over! Yay! Wow, I had a tiring week. I'm sure everyone did. I've been noticing that everyone's been a little bit down, and a little bit stressed, and a little bit frustrated lately. So I think it's time to give EVERYONE A *huuuuuge hug*.
Heh, that was so preppy, eh? :P
I had another SCC meeting on Wednesday. Once again, I'm the only student there in a room of adults, but once again I found out some stuff I'm apparently not allowed to tell. It was cool, they were like "we can trust you, right Anita?" :D And then some of the parents complimented me on how well I speak in public. Eee, how come people are so nice? :) I definitely feel more relaxed there already. But MAN, why am I in so many friggin councils? Student Parliament, Student Senate, School Community Council, Students Together Against Racism, and then I sometimes have to go to the Stephen Lewis Fundraising meetings too. One day I'm going to get confused, I know it. :P
Ok, enough about me. Wait, what am I talking about? This journal is MINE, therefore it's all ME, ALL the time! MWAHAHAHAHAHA! ^^
Thursday was my last in-class driver's ed day. Ohh man, we had a supply teacher, and he just rambled ON AND ON. It was nuts. I definitely didn't learn anything from him. Ok, I did, but he didn't have to repeat everything, like, twelve times. :P Well, whatever, it's over. Now I get to learn how to actually drive. Yay! :)
Ooh, on Thursday, I also got my hair did (heh) for my Grad Photo! It was pretty cool, the place I went was really urban and stuff. They even offered my mom and I coffee when we came in. I'm definitely getting my hair for prom done there too. I have a
here for y'all. It actually looked better in real life, lol. I swear! ;)
Anyway, my hair's been whack ever since. I hope it goes back to normal soon.
Today at lunch, we had a Quarter Bake Sale from STAR. It happened all over the school board and it was to raise money for a school in Africa. My mommy made samosas, and everything that we had sold out pretty quickly. It was so much fun! I'm thinking STAR is gonna really rock this year, I'm so excited! :D
Aaaand, after school today, my family went out for subs. Did you know that Diet Coke is now Coke Zero? I am so confused man. Why would you change the name after all these years? I am just really confused. And it actually tasted a little different. Maybe it'll be like New Coke and go back soon or something. Whatever, I'm confused.
And then, while we ate our subs, we also watched...Salaam Namaste! ^_^
Alright, so I finally saw this movie. I have to be honest, it wasn't up to par with my expectations. I mean, Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta are so awesome, I expect a certain amount of quality from them. It wasn't that it was a bad movie, oh no, I've seen movies that are PLENTY worse, but it was just strictly ok. I laughed, sure, and I really liked some of the emotional parts, but there were just too many cliche scenes that I thought were too obvious.
Saif not sleeping with the white girl? Sure, we all saw it coming, but it just seemed so cheesy. "You stayed up all night talking about some Ambar chick!". Ok, what girl would stay around all night if that's what the guy did? It makes no sense. And Jugal Hansraj being engaged to someone else? Waaaay too obvious. My brother would have had a field day predicting this one. :P
Ok, but it definitely had its good parts too. First of all, ABHISHEK HAD ME IN STITCHES! I am serious, after the movie was over, I was still laughing at his craziness. My dad made a very good comparison; the guy in Salaam Namaste and the guy in Dus are WORLDS apart. ROFL! I thought the second half of the movie, when there was a lot of emotional aspects being brought in, was a lot better than the first half. OH MAN! The greatest was the fact that Pri-chan was a girl from BANGALORE who had come to Australia and was studying to become a DOCTOR! Anything better than that? :D And I thought the part when Saif was trying to put up a Muhammad Ali poster was too hilarious. I'm pretty sure that was a reference about the "But isn't that Muhammad Ali?" line in KHNH. And Arshad Warsi can speak English so well! That was awesome! And I definitely want Saif's tv. So very jealous. And, so yeah, there was a lot of stuff that was good about the movie too.
But, I have to admit, Saif and Preity didn't have much chemistry in this movie. In every other movie I've seen them have together, even on Koffee with Karan, they always have a chance to show off their great rapport, but in this movie, it seemed like they didn't really get to show it, which is kinda weird, since they were the main characters and all, together all the time.
So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that the movie is good enough, but when you have certain expectations, it won't really live up. After seeing Saif in Parineeta, I think so highly of him. Same with this being Preity's only movie this year after Veer-Zaara, I have certain standards for her, y'know?
Ohh, and what's with all the pregnant heroines in Bollywood lately? Rani in Bunty Aur Babli, Priyanka in Waqt and now Preity in Salaam Namaste? Weird eh? And WHY was Preity dancing to What's Going On while she was pregnant? I had to laugh. And her fake belly looked so...fake! :P
And that REALLY cute kid who crawls up to Saif in the bookstore? That's Arshad Warsi's kid!!! And that woman was his wife! THAT KID WAS ADORABLE! ^_^
I'm not sure which I liked better, this, or Hum Tum, or Bunty Aur Babli. I need to see it again, I think. And because of that, I can't really give it a rating, but I can give you a picture! :)
ALright, I decided to give it 8.2/10!
Alright, time for my weekend to begin...with sleep! :)
