I'm the first one to arrive on site at 6 am and I enjoy the quiet when I walk in. I come in, put my lunch in the fridge, brew the coffee and check the work tickets that came in over night. It's nice and quiet even when I turn on my Pandora radio stations, even with the metal and hardcore it is still quiet because there are no distracting voices.
About 7:00 is when the rest of the staff start piling in. But anyhoo to make a long story or rant shorter I'll just get to the point.
Today rainy, it was raining when I came in and it will be raining when I leave. The weatherman stated that it will be raining all weekend. So....
The dude of the mailroom has the need to say this to everyone that comes to the window ... and to the rest of the staff that try to start a conversation.
I've heard "It's going to be a rainy weekend" about 12 times this morning and the dude came in at 7:30 and it is now ten of 8. I shouldn't be so damned critical just because I have a problem with redundancy but for fuck sake man, talk about something else. Everyone can see that it is raining out, and everyone that watched the fucking news knows that it will be a rainy weekend. Maybe it's just me and I am just a crotchety schmuck but stuff like that ticks me off. It's bad enough that I have to listen to these queens kivetch about Dancing With the Stars and American Idol (I like to call it Dancing with the Czars and Armenian Midol) and the fact that they are armchair quarterbacks or armchair whatnots and they think they know everything about everything....oy vey
