Today, I found a
recording I was on from about a year and a half ago. This band played a handful of shows at the Rudyard Kipling (where every band and their grandmother plays their first show) and then disbanded when the lead singer decided to go to New York City to study anesthesiology(sp). We have heard rumors he's coming back in town, but I don't really think it's going to happen.
I had completely forgotten about the whole thing. I miss playing in that group. I don't think I've ever said that about any band I've played in; most of the time, I learn what I have to learn and then move on. Playing with these guys was different--it was like like having a fling with a girl and then wondering later why you didn't marry her. There are some mistakes and some weak ideas on the demo, but just as much of it is pretty, and sometimes you have to wonder where it could have gone. Maybe you don't have to wonder. But I do. Or, I just like wondering.
