i believe that there is no clear statement that will perfectly define "life".

It's true. Everyone always says life is the opposite of death...but birth is the opposite of death. Life has no opposite. It's a tricky thing.

these are excellent pictures!
do you by any chance know any links to works by Robert Kapa? I've just read Steinbeck's "russian diary". funny book. witty and ..mm..sort of provocatively naive. he traveled around USSR in 1947 together with photographer Kapa and managed to see a lot. unfortunately here the book was published only in hungry 90s on a toilet paper without any photos. I'm curious )

it was robert capa who said, "if your pictures aren't good enough, you're not close enough"
i love that.

anyway, i found many of his photographs on the image search in google, here.
i think i will look into reading 'russian diary' :]

Чёрт! so he's Capa, not Kapa! thanks a lot ) I've found some more
I liked the book, and I'm pretty sure, you'd like it as well. it's funny and sad how topical it still is.

but there is more to "this life" than ordinary events and typical relationships. life is composed boldly; intricately; beautifully; awfully; strangely. behind the usual trips to the market or pharmacy, behind the friendships we form and arguments we have, our lives are symbolic.

i love this. i love your journal. i love how you put things into words. + i love the photo.
