I thought twenty-four was young by human standards.

There's an old adage...

"You're only as old as you feel."

I feel about fifty most of the time, so I'm not looking forward to actually living that long and feeling worse.

You can feel ages? You humans are weirder then I thought.

You can feel the physical deterioration of the mortal human body over time. When we're born, if we're born healthy, we're strong and energetic and ready for anything. But the older we get the more our body wears down. Disease, disorders, injuries, just general wear and tear... it all takes a toll eventually.

You expected to die before you were twenty four? I live a pretty risky life but even my sights are set on making it to thirty.

... I had my reasons for thinking that.

[Because, lawl, only Travis knows that she's also Warrior Tigra]

Well...it sounds to me like you need some good dumb fun to take some stress off if you're that wound up.

When was the last time you did something fun?

... New Years. Laid around, watched bad movies and got entirely too plastered with my friend Travis.

Hm. S'more proof to why humans suck, really.

I wouldn't go so far as to say we 'suck', but we're definitely lower rung material. All the lying and backstabbing and whathaveyou doesn't exactly raise our standing any, either.

Wow. And here I thought that the mid-life crisis was suppose to happen around the late 30's-early 40's.

Don't curse me. Knowing my luck it'll still happen and I'll wind up inadvertently causing World War III or something.

Hey, it's not really much of a curse really. Still, you have to admit, a 24 year old woman complaining that she feels old is kinda silly. I'm 17 and even I know this.

I've always complained about my age... I couldn't escape that craptastic boonie town I was stuck in until I was twenty. I feel like I got a late start on everything.

No, he doesn't know you. He's responding anyway. apwbbumblebee January 14 2010, 01:37:51 UTC
Ah, happy birthday, my dear!

I recall having much the same reaction when I was perhaps forty--about the same time I became Nicholas Flamel's partner in alchemy, in fact. Of course, by the time I turned an even one hundred it was rather less of a worry. [chuckles]

<3 Ahime can always use more friends. warriortigra January 14 2010, 04:54:34 UTC
... that sounds like something out of a fantasy book, sir.

[another chuckle] Well, I am a wizard and apparently a rather well-known fictional character among some of the people here, so that is a rather appropriate observation.

Ahime... doesn't, but she's getting over that. warriortigra January 14 2010, 08:23:48 UTC
[Give her a bit, she'll start to figure it out.]

Huh. Well.. ah... thanks, sir. For the birthday wishes I mean.
