PAIRING EXAMPLE ⇒ Ma Chao/Zhao Yun DEFINITION ⇒ Sometimes a random pairing becomes almost canonical just because of how popular it is. Sometimes they do become canon. Case in point: Before DW6, Zhao Yun and Ma Chao had little to no interaction at all! NOTES ⇒ Fanon is defined by TVTropes.org as the set of theories based on that material which, while they generally seem to be the "obvious" or "only" interpretation of canonical fact, are not actually part of the canon 1. To count as fanon under this theme, a significant fanbase for the pairing (consisting of of fanfic, fanart etc) must already exist.
