Linus/Sally-Peanuts
I don't know if it was this one or Usagi/Mamoru. But this one is the one I have the most memories of. I think most people just remember the Linus/Sally dynamic from the Christmas special (ie. Linus is annoyed by Sally 24/7 and Sally has an insane crush on him. However in the comics and the specials, their relationship ship dynamic is more complex. Sally might have a crush on him, but it didn't mean she automatically believed him about the 'Great Pumpkin'. She did end up staying with him because she does care, but when she realized he was wrong she was even more upset. Both from losing candy and feeling like her belief in him was betrayed. Meanwhile, Linus isn't really that hostile towards her, and actually does care what she thinks (upset over her not believing in the great pumpkin for example), just when she crushes on him. I think if she fell in love with another guy down the line, or even just stopped caring/noticing him, he'd probably want her to like him again. Obviously, I ship them more for future potential then anything. I also think the fact that they're both cuckcolanders in there own ways (while still being pragmatic and practical in their separate ways), is good too. They'd balance each other out. They also remind me of my parents (happily married for over 30 years).
