I still really, really loath that scene at the end when she puts on the armor. I mean wtf? I wouldn't have minded, if she was presented as an action girl in the early part of the film, even if it would have been not really historically accurate. But she wasn't. She was protrayed however, as an incredability strong person, who was holding things down on her husband's estate, fairly aweseomly even if there were problems. The character was already tough. There was absolutely no reason to put her in a suit of armour and have her fight in a battle. Especially, since she was totally useless in a fight. The whole thing ruined the end of the movie for me.
I wasn't too crazy about the rest of it, though for various reasons. The best parts were when Alan Doyle played/sang. It made the Newfoundlander in me smile.
