My first Thanksgiving in Colorado...
Yesterday, I took Hannah on the bus with me. It was not difficult at all. We went on errands all day because today is thanksgiving and stores would be closed. I had to time things just right so that she wouldn't cry around people. And we did really, really well.
I had a really good laugh the other day, as I read an old journal entry I wrote while I was upset about someone telling me "couldn't have kids and do anything because I couldn't drive" well, I am living proof that it is quite simple to get groceries, go to the mall, have a thanksgiving meal, go to the library and register for college all while taking the bus (in less than a day) with a two month old! So there you have it. Life is not as difficult as you think it might be.
I love the line from Wallace (in Braceheart) as he resorts to someone who says "it's impossible" - why is it impossible? Because you say is it?! We won at faulcurk and you would not support us, we defeated the english on their own ground still you would not support us...there's a difference between us...
Someone once said, impossible is only impossible if you haven't tried. With God all things are possible. If people's words, attitudes, gestures can stop you, you are already defeated. Because they think you can't? Who cares what they think? They do not know who you are or what is within you. They have not tasted what you have and more importantly they do not have the believing power that opens the door. No one can open that door but you. If you let others close that door for you, you have already been defeated. Push them out of the way! They are skeptical, they are hopeless, they are not you. They do not have your strength to walk through that door and they will take you out with their words, if you let them. Hold that sheild high and protect yourself, Walk bravely past those firey darts and proclaim the freedom of Christ within you. Set the captives free! For the King's Glory! Amen.
