Falcon hunting trip today was aborted, due to injury and a very frightened bird.
Geselle panicked when she left the mews today, and left a nasty scratch on my arm. Something in the area really frightens her, and instead of landing on her prescribed spot on my glove, she chose to land a little too high. I don't blame her for panicking, the sights and smells around the mews are a little too much to bear. I don't like using a hood on her, we can usually communicate-but with the area building up, I think a hood's necessary.
I'm taking a few days break while my scratch heals up and Geselle calms down enough that I can refit her for a hood and jesses. I'm just frustrated with being laid up for a few days. I have too much to do this week to sit down-but I'll get it all done. I've got to.
