From the Montana Standard via the AP on Monday:
An article about Sarah Palin stepping down as govenor of Alaska included comments from some of the supporters and hecklers present at the ceremony. One woman had a red shirt with "Palintologist" on it, defined as "Someone who studies Palin and shares her conservative values, Maverick attitude and American style."
I thought that was clever, and amusing. I like it. I'm not sure I could consider myself a purist Palintologist since I don't exactly "study" her, but I do follow her in the media. I don't really care that she's labeled as a "Maverick", but I do like that she's not afraid to speak her mind and back it. She's a leader whether people like it or not. She is gifted in the ability to lead. I also like that she is confident in her abilities, and who she is as a person, especially as a woman. She's comfortable in her own skin. That's pretty alright in my book. :-) Hope she rubs off on some people. (Though I'm sure she will also rub many the wrong way!)
