You know, I think that "Rules" lecture is universal in every older adult community in Florida.

One year, we brought a can of soda to the poor, because it was like 1000 degrees. This nasty old bitch, (probably the same one as yours), walks over and says..."Didn't you read the rules? Soda is not allowed at the pool."

Ahh, it's our vacation, just shut up and let us enjoy the darn soda.

Puhlease. They're just bitter that no one's visiting them.

It just occurred to me... were you trying to type "the poor lifeguard", or "the pool"? For some reason I didn't think "poor" was a typo and that you referring to some guy watching the pool is 1000 degree heat, but now I realize that "the pool" is a little more likely. Though I like the image of some little kids being thoughtful enough to bring the lifeguard something to drink.
