Tis' a day for.... Chicken Soup

I've wanted to make a post for a couple of days. Not really about anything in general I've just wanted to sit down, reflect and write something. Only I've been a bit of a funk for the last couple of days. No not the groovy kind. So I've had zero motivation to do... anything. I think I finally got out of it yesterday but then I was pretty busy so I did what you are supposed to do at work, and worked. Today is an entirely different story, a really different story. You see it's raining. Well, actually it's more like a thunderstorm at the moment. And it shouldn't be happening. It's totally the wrong season for this sort of weather. So, anyway I have a quiet day ahead since the rigs can't drill with this much lightning around. Plus I have to keep true to my tendency to write lj posts when it's raining up here.

I still have internet occasionally in my room but it boots me when I'm idle for 20mins or when it feels like it. So I can't download even small files since apparently downloading something doesn't count towards not being idle. I tried to download a small amv last night and it kept getting interupted and the .org is such that you can't really resume downloads since the address changes. I started to try downloading some manga but then I kinda ran out of time and had to go to bed. Still I managed to catch up on sluggy and several other webcomics.

Fruits basket is still as fantastic as it ever was. I ended up watching it again in an effort to cheer myself up. I really do enjoy it's light hearted humour. I'm glad I decided to start picking up the manga. It'll be nice to see how everything turns out in the end. I've also started playing nintendogs again. It's kinda like having a cross between a tamagotchi and a real pet. I'm waiting for one of my neighbours to ask me what the barking noise is. Still playing fire emblem of course. It has an excellent story and I'm totally roped in by this stage. I'm tempted to try and use stills etc from it to do a segment in orophers rpg mep but I think that may be a bit beyond my capabilities and I suspect oropher is going to have a hard time getting the mep off the ground. Also I have been tempted by adobe after effects after having heard it has a pen tool that allows you getter manipulation of mask extra. Something worth looking into anyway.

I'm looking forward to heading off to melbourne in the next couple of weeks. Even if I'm not looking forward to the extra work days I have to put in to get the time off. Still it should be good I've never been there so it'll be up to the locals and Jon to show me around a bit. And I'll get a chance to see the avcon, amvience and manifest crews again.

friends, video games, convention, jon
