(no subject)
Had a really good time tonight, in spite of getting aggressively cockblocked for close to an hour. Picked up Lauren; stopped at a new place for dinner and discovered even more things we have in common; passed out valentines to strangers; went to the show; left immediately because she had left her debit card at the restaurant; picked it up and went back to the show, where Derek had arrived. And that was cool for the first 45 minutes, until Derek started talking to her, even sharing a seat with her facing away from me in a crowded, loud venue (come on, man)and I basically became invisible for 45 minutes to an hour. Eventually we ended up in a booth and things got a bit more comfortable, but crap. It'd be one thing if he wasn't trying to encourage me to talk to her before that and berating me for not getting her number in the first place, but to basically crowd me out of conversation for that length of time is just ridiculous. And I don't even really know how I would approach bringing it up to Derek, since she's not my girl, and I can't really stop him from being interesting. It's really confusing.
Anyway, we eventually left (delayed by about another 10 minutes of chitchat with Derek outside by the truck) and then we finally took off, with Lauren making suggestive meat jokes and with me asking about having the greek night we'd talked about over dinner (she offered to cook me greek, if I'd make her the smoothies that I'd told her about). Well, she had some of the greek food in the fridge at home, and she wanted to get rid of it before she went out of town for the weekend, so it looks like we're going to do indian night instead, because I just ate the greek tonight (it was delicious).with smoothies (not exactly tradtional Indian beverage, but hey), and watching the Godfather, since I've never seen it, and she owns it and has never seen it. We'll see how things go.
