I am not sure that it has entirely sunk in that I am in Spain and thousands of miles away from home. But that´s okay, I´m having fun.
My señora is this little old lady named Pepita Herrera. She´s very spanish but she looks like a new york jewish grandmother. When I met her, she was wearing a black top with little rhinestones or something that spelled out "New York" on her shirt. It was amusing.
She is almost deaf so she can´t really hear me most of the time so I end up talking to her son, who is like 35 and I´m not sure how I feel about him. He´s kinda nice, but a little condescending. Unfortunately, they pretty much only talk to me during meals, which are in front of a television that is freaking loud, because she is deaf, I guess. So they talk to me and I can´t hear them, then I look stupid when I have no idea what they are saying. ITs not that my spanish is that bad, it isn´t frankly, it´s just that I can´t understand a foreign language while the simpsons in spanish is blaring in the background, well, more foreground since the tv is as close as they are.
I´m kinda tired and I want to find a café and get something to drink. Unfortunately, I don´t like to go to places like that alone, so I´m going to have to find someone from my program or something.
