i want a second opinion..

.. and a third. and a fourth. and more if needs be until i rule this diagnosis out.

Acute Gastritis, i can accept that, i've lived with that since i was 16. but Acute Pancreatitis?! where on earth did this come from? i mean *ahem ahem* and i quote:

Acute pancreatitis occurs more often in men than women.

Acute pancreatitis is usually caused by gallstones or by drinking too much alcohol, but these aren't the only causes. If alcohol use and gallstones are ruled out, other possible causes of pancreatitis should be carefully examined so that appropriate treatment--if available--can begin.

Symptoms
Acute pancreatitis usually begins with pain in the upper abdomen that may last for a few days. The pain may be severe and may become constant--just in the abdomen--or it may reach to the back and other areas. It may be sudden and intense or begin as a mild pain that gets worse when food is eaten. Someone with acute pancreatitis often looks and feels very sick. Other symptoms may include:

swollen and tender abdomen
nausea
vomiting
fever
rapid pulse

Severe cases may cause dehydration and low blood pressure. The heart, lungs, or kidneys may fail. If bleeding occurs in the pancreas, shock and sometimes even death follow.

okay, the pain i experienced last Sunday night was practically crippling, but it didn't reach my back or any other areas. just my tummy. and fine, i couldn't stop throwing up, even water. i don't think i look nor feel very sick.. just very wasted. haha that was a lame joke.

and for crying out loud, i haven't been overdrinking, even while i was in Bora. i read somewhere else that those diagnosed with Pancreatitis with alcoholism as the cause are mostly men in their 30s to 40s.. characteristics that i clearly do not possess. i mean, i might be one of the most unglamorous drunks, but i'm not the heaviest drinker. excuses, excuses.

The heart, lungs, or kidneys may fail. If bleeding occurs in the pancreas, shock and sometimes even death follow.

how very cheerful. omg, isn't this what Rico Yan's supposed cause of death was? stressss. why can't i just be diagnosed with Ulcer like everyone else?!

anyway. i was taking this survey online about it a few minutes ago and you know what totally threw me off? for the question "Symptoms you have experienced from Acute Pancreatitis, which of these symptoms have you experienced?", among the choices was: DEATH.

uh, yeah. like i'd be taking this survey if i've experienced that "symptom" already. kaloka.

but there.. i'm so getting myself checked again. or if the enzyme Amylase count is higer than normal, is that a sure sign that you have Pancreatitis talaga? anyone here who knows about this? haaay. at the very least i'm still allowed to smoke. am i?
