i can't believe we've reached the FINAL MONTH of 2004. how very disturbing. how very bizaare. where did it all go? was majority of it really spent on sleeping through hangovers? well, NO. i need to refresh my memory soon, though. but i know that a lot of it are documented in my Yahoo inbox. mmm.. there we go.

so there i was with Chrysmas, milking happy hour in Absinth for all its worth when this girl stopped by our table to drop cards and solicit for money. her name (i actually took the time to read the card) is Nhicole and she's a working student trying to pay her way through college. buying dried mangoes at the cost of P130 from her would apparently help her achieve her dreams. we apologized and she walked away, that smile still plastered on her face.
we were discussing last saturday night's mishaps when another girl came over to our table. she was just about to drop a card when chrysmas and i both said "whoaaaa!" in unison, surprised by the second intrusion. girl says nothing and walks away, realizing that she will get nothing from these two hags downing blue cocktails.
and then, less than half an hour since Nhicole made herself known, a tall Caucasian guy drops two small Hello Kitty dolls on our table. chrysmas and i blurted out expletives in surprise and he calmly put down cards that said he has been deaf all his life, has never heard laughter nor music and that our blessings should be shared. so for P100 and a Hello Kitty toy, we could help him out (in what way, he didn't specify). we bit our lips and shook our heads. sorry. but there was a reason why were there during HAPPY HOUR. mostly because we can't afford prime time. he walked away like he made a mistake and we felt guilty.
i kind of felt like a hypocrite, sitting there with two drinks in front of me and a Music 1 shopping bag beside them while telling those people that i didn't have any extra money to spare. i probably looked like one selfish biatch. it's just that.. no. i can't. are these things scams? and should i feel bad because i didn't help them out? why do they like putting you on the spot like that? argh.
