Spent most of the day with a dear friend, Chrysmas (guess when her birthday is). We haven't talked for a long time and it dawned on me that i truly miss conversing with her over bottomless coffee/iced tea back when i was still studying (or at least pretending to, anyway). I've been missing out on a lot of things that kept me sane before i started working. Jobs do that to you, i guess. And now that my energies are spent and my brain is dry, there's nothing like bonding over alcohol and nicotine til 8am to rejuvenate me.
When we talk, we come up with really crazy realizations and conclusions about the satires that are our lives. Here are some of the things we said last night:
"Kabarokan, if transmitted, would be the worst STD. The nasty thing about it is that you can't even hide it. And drunkenness isn't an excuse.""
"Drunk-dialing should be made illegal. There has to be a way for our cellphones to know how much alcohol we've had when we hold it and if it senses we had too much, it should be able to hinder us from dialing certain people's numbers. Just to save us from humiliation."
"For a four-letter word, love makes such a huge impact. No matter how many times you get burned, you'd still crave it, if only to get that high. I can't wait to fall in love again."
"Now i understand how some people feel as if every love song on the planet was written for them."
"He gave me mono. But at least he wasn't barok."
"Meeting new people is tiring."
"For someone so baduy, i hope she has a helluva personality."
"The reason why we like guys who look like junkies is that they're the ones who are interesting. Because they probably are junkies or at least former junkies and they've been through a lot of shit most people don't go through."
"She hits like a girl."
"I don't think i'll end up with a yuppie."
"Tangina, wala ka talagang type, noh? Unless you count 'half-dead-looking' as a type. No wonder you end up wth all kinds of men."
"I show up at their house, drenched from the rain, a puddle forming by my feet and her dad says i 'make sense'."
"Kids are pretty cute, as long as you don't have to raise them."
"Think of it this way. If ever we ever do have grandkids one day, we'll never run out of stories to tell them. Hopefully, we'd still be credible."
I love my friends.
