that wasn't a good day for anyone, i reckon.

we had an earthquake the other day. several storms are converging in this country. and then yesterday, we had a repeat coup attempt from the Magdalo crew. last night should have been coronation night dahil maraming kailangang bigyan ng AWARD. like:

1. Sen. Trillanes - where do i even start with this guy? okay, i seriously wonder if it's him or someone else in his posse who keeps choosing upscale venues to stage their idiotic coups. Oakwood in 2003 and the Manila Pen yesterday. next, one of the things he said before exiting the hotel earlier was that he is upset about something like still being in jail despite getting 11 million votes to be placed in the senate. hello?! can someone remind him that he is still in trouble for that coup attempt in 2003? kaya nga he had a hearing early yesterday, diba?

tapos they said they're going to surrender because they didn't want to risk anyone's lives as the military was already crashing their hotel party. so now they're concerned pa about public safety. concerned pala eh. shouldn't they have thought about this before wreaking havoc again in a public place that's situated in a very busy city? biatch.

i still don't get why people voted for him. paki-explainnn. sabi ko nga sa nanay ko when i saw the news, "pwede bang barilin na lang siya?" tell me, what is he doing with the ideals that he so believes in?

2. ang minamalas na Manila Pen - sigh. those waterfalls have screamed for attention far too long. when i was watching the APC crash through the main doors, all i was thinking was, "not the fabulous lobby!!!" the owners must have been groaning. granted, the rebels didn't comply with the 3PM deadline to give it up, was it really necessary for the military to crash the lobby that way? why can't they do it like in the movies? you know, a group of well-trained SWAT guys or something should be able to manhandle a far smaller group of (seemingly) unarmed rebels. i wonder who's going to pay for the repair of those doors.

3. Akon - anong nangyari sa concert niya?

4. the police - how come no one stopped Trillanes and company during their long march from the Makati Regional Trial Court to Manila Pen? it's not like the hotel was just around the corner. the police, or the military, or even the boy scouts for that matter, would have been able to stop the group from progressing further. i mean, this group of people who are on trial, they walk out and take to the streets during the hearing, there must be at least one or more rules they're breaking. so..? what happened?

5. the media - a lot of heat on this one. for one thing, the media was technically not doing anything wrong and they don't seem to be on the side of the rebels, so there really was no reason for them to have been taken to Bicutan for questioning. then on the other hand, there's the issue of the media who remained with Trillanes and company in the hotel even if they were already given enough time to hightail it out of there. as my dad pointed out, there was already that yellow tape with the "POLICE LINE - DO NOT CROSS".. what part of that did these people didn't get? sometimes, it doesn't pay to be too makulit.

6. everyone with a nightlife - may they be the call center/BPO employees or the nocturnal citizens, anyone who wanted and/or needed to be outside between 12AM and 5AM was inconvenienced because of the curfew imposed. so i guess walang Fluxxe kagabi?

7. EVERYONE, period - lahat talaga talo eh. lahat na-hassle. look at the businesses who lost out because of yesterday's events. start with Manila Pen and go towards the area around it. the stock market was down. coup attempts never inspired tourism. my youngest brother's high school dance was postponed. to say that the government was irked is an understatement. shempre, sa lahat na na-inconvenience, maiirita lang sa Magdalo. shempre sila lalo talo.

and so ended another day in this country.. so who said this place is getting boring?

politicking
