CSU 101: Understanding ohioans

Dec 05, 2006 04:56

ohioans are a strange people... they all have no respect for where they come from. ive never seen people hate their hometown with such passion before. granted, there is constantly construction downtown and it rains in cleveland more than it does in seattle. but even still, i dont understand. im from buffalo, a place most would consider a shithole, for lack of a better term. but honestly, i love it at home. it is what you make of it. if you want something to do, 9 out of 10 you can get it in buffalo, you just have to know where to go- and i do. cleveland is no different. in fact, they probably have even more great things than we have at home, but the difference is that people here are way too busy hating on their own hometown to take advantage of whatever it is they have. i dunno, i just dont see how you can hate where you come from, because where you come from shapes who you are. another thing thats weird about ohioans is their unhealthy obsession with the ohio state buckeyes. when games come on they huddle around tv's as if hypnotized. its borderline scary. the thing i dont understand is... the buckeyes play in columbus. 3 hours away. we're in cleveland. so why do they care? i have this theory that because the browns are such an embarrasement, that cheering fro the buckeyes is the only way these people can hold on to a winning football team. it explains much of their abnormal ritualistic buckeyes-watching behavior. i can go into even more depth with why ohioans are weird, but im reserving that for only certain people i can talk to about why they are weird. like stacie.

i have alot more to write abot but im gonna try sleeping. hopefully ill be able to write tomorrow. hell, maybe ill even write more tonight if this cigarrette smoke continues to bother me.

GO GATORS... i hope the gators kill the buckeyes so i dont have to listen to these brainwashed ohioans cheer and brag all about the football team of a school that they dont even go to for the rest of the year.
