Okay, so I have started the process of cleaning my room (with MUCH help from my Erika). The big job was finally ditching my lovely piles of clothes from which i magically pull whatever clothes I need from. I'm feeling like that isn't the idea for the future---I need to learn to use drawers again, although I feel like they will become their own mini-piles within the drawers, but, oh well, at least it is contained. If you know me well enough, you know that my room is very cluttered. I just don't have enough room in one tiny bedroom for all of the stuff I have, and, I am no good at organization, so any hope of any kind of order in my room is, therefore, dashed.
Now, the reason I am doing such a large clean is because this summer is the summer that I am going to pack up my belongings and brave it on my own. I'm ready to move out, my parents are ready for me to move out, and I just need a change. The big question is: where am I going to move? The way I see it, I have two choices right now that I need to be looking at. I either stay here in Rochester and get a place by myself closer to work (assuming Erika doesn't get off the U of R waitlist. You see, if she did, I think everything would be perfect because we would just move in somewhere in the city together) But, the negative of this is that, with Erika in medical school, I probably won't see much of her if she goes to syracuse. So, therein lies my next choice. I could move to Syracuse. This is a big thing for me since I really don't like change and I am a home body. But, I think a change for me might be good. Yes, I would have to look for another job. I would have to make a lot of changes...but, is it strange that this seems to appeal to me right now? Maybe not, right? My mother moved to Boston when she moved out. My brother moved to Florida and then Hawaii. I already talked with my mother and she told me I can do what I want. I feel like the one thing I am going to have trouble with is people telling me not to move in with my girlfriend so soon. Here is the thing: I really need to know somebody well to live with them. Erika and I were very close friends a long time before we started dating. Since 10th grade in high school. That's 6 years. There's only two people I've known that long and am that close to. We would still have separate bedrooms in our apartment, and I think that's good.
Anyway, I totally took a long break from this entry and lost my train of thought. Goodnight.
