School: School is going well. I kicked the first semester's ass. I'm 98% sure that I have 4 Honors and 1 Pass...better than expected...I was aiming for 5 Passes...haha. Finals weren't too bad...I went to the office to see my exams and I did an average of 5 points lower than I did on my midterms. Can't say I'm surprised...definitely did not cram as effectively as I did during midterms....but nonetheless...ass kicking ensued. :o)
Work: Still working limited hours...need some cash flow otherwise I would just quit. The store has definitely changed in the last year. I dunno, but whatever...I have approximately two months left there and I'm out. :o) Ugh, I got a letter during Thanksgiving saying that they have to take more money of my check because they under withheld FICA from my earlier checks. Wtf? Not like I make enough for them to do that...whatever. Two more months. That's it.
It's weird that soon this category will stop referring to my work at the bookstore and will start with whatever paralegal job I get. Let the metamorphosis begin. :o) Apparently I should be starting the job search...guess I will...next week. :oD
Internship: I've interned a total of 90.25 hours over the course of 9 weeks. So I need...44.75 hours to complete my 135 hour requirement...so that means...I can finish the rest within the next 4 weeks...probably less, but I'm not willing to kill myself. Doesn't matter though, the attorney I'm working for is real nice and she has confidence in me. I've definitely learned a lot and have picked up a new skill that I can add to my resume. She also buys me food occasionally and has been paying me some cash weekly...so that's awesome. I wasn't counting on extra money. She said she would hire me on part time while I find a job and/or keep as a kind of contractor. Bring me on for certain projects and stuff like that. That's awesome...at least now I have a good reference.
Friends: I have not seen any of my friends in like months. For reals. Note to self: Get people to hang sometime soon. Everyone has been so busy...it's difficult to schedule anything. Lame. The hiatus must come to an end. :o)
Boyfriend: Things are going well. He's been busy too with school and stuff...his finals are coming up soon...so that's good. Gotta get more of our Kim and Kev time in before he leaves for Baltimore again. B-more mode shall initiate sooner than expected and for longer than expected...lame. He also won't tell me what he got me for Christmas...extra lame. :oP I bought him a couple gifts already, but I don't know what else to get him. I always want to give at least one gift I know he'll really like. We'll see.
Family: My brother is a douche. That pretty much encompasses him. He's getting so ridiculous...I just want to deck him sometimes. Definitely frustrating. He's definitely the #1 reason I want to move out already. Argh. Everyone else in my family? Pretty much the same...haha...
Holidays: Thanksgiving was good...ate at home and then went to my cousin Karla's place for dessert. Her husband's family was there which I didn't even know. The two families were totally segregated. I find this so weird because it isn't like that between my mom and my dad's families. I was talking to Oscar and Michelle about it at work and Oscar said that that was pretty much what happened at his brother's house between his family and his sister-in-law's family. :+:shrugs:+: Guess it isn't just my cousin's weirdo family then.
After dinner I got together with Kevin and we went with his brother to Sears for the doorbusters sale...then Best Buy, then Circuit City, then Sports Authority, then Microcenter, and then finally Target. Phew. All of this before 10 A.M....haha...it was definitely crazy...we slept for like two hours before we had to get up...
The coolest thing I bought was my new 19 in. LCD widescreen monitor. It is sweet. It definitely took me a while to get used to it though. It just felt like too much screen for me initially, I really thought I was going to end up returning it, but it has grown on me. I can see how it's clearer than my old monitor.
I don't know what my plans are for Christmas or for New Years. I don't know if my family is doing anything for Christmas this year. Last year my aunt threw a party...I don't know if she's doing it again. I kind of hope she does because it's nice to get out of the house and stuff since my immediate family doesn't really celebrate holidays, but at the same time I'm weary that she will throw a party because she got super drunk last year...don't want that again. As far as New Years...have to keep my eyes open. Last year Kevin and I went to Cubby Bear to see Sixteen Candles...that was fun...drinking and dancing. I love 80's music. We'll see what we end up doing this year.
I think that wraps it up. :oP
Ugh, I have school all day tomorrow.
Lame.
