Holy new layout! :D
I've been working on this for the last few days; I had to re-familiarize myself with CSS, so it longer than it used to when I still did more design-type stuff. I made the header graphic on a whim last week and decided I wanted to use it for a layout here, and ended up looking around at some of the LJ's and LJ communities that

The graphic is really fantastic, hon, and something I was going to point out as a part of the new layout that I really like especially. That feeling of having so many decision and choices in front of you that it becomes disorienting when you're attempting to pick the right path for you? I know that feeling so well, and the quote along with your picture of a man standing in a wooded area with all those signs pointing in varying directions is so powerful in that it captures the feeling so well. Sometimes the weight of all the things we know we should do and where we want to end up can be so heavy that it makes us feel like giving up and slinking into our little hole where it's safe and warm and we don't have to face the sometimes horrifying prospect of 'what if'. But you're doing so, so incredibly well, even if you don't see it at the moment because you feel you've gotten lost in all the twists and turns in life's road. In just the short time we've been talking and become friends I have seen a tremendous growth in you as a young woman, and I know this is only the beginning. You'll take on all life's difficulties with the grace, wisdom, and maturity of people twice your age. It might be scary, but the important thing about fear is to know the difference between facing it and concuring it, and letting it dictate our lives. There will always be an element of fear, but we have to learn to harness it and use it to make us stronger rather than let it defeat us. You've already done that in so many ways, I'm constantly in awe of how you face everything head-on and take control of your fear instead of allowing the opposite to happen and, as you said, 'shrinking away' from it. You may not always realize this, honey, but you've already come such a long way in your journey of overcoming your fears and anxieties, and with time and work it will become easier and easier. Even though you may doubt yourself sometimes, you are more than capable of going forward and accomplishing everything you want and even more. You're going to be just fine, sweetheart. And you've got a lot of people who love you so much who are willing to help you in any way that we can. *hugs*
I'm glad your classes are going well, and your various projects in them sound very neat! You'll have to tell me how the Composition music one goes. :)
Love you, honey!
