Notable Quotable: I present you with this week's reigning *facepalm* quote from my Composition class this afternoon.
When the professor told us to take turns introducing ourselves to the class, asking us to include a mention of what kind of relationship we have with reading and writing, there was one student who said the following:
"I'm a journalism major, and I hate reading."
Bwuh?!
I just remember sitting there and thinking, Oh, so you're going to be a shitty journalist? Awesome.
Don't even get me started on the other nearly 20 students (out of a class of probably 25) who gave some variation of, "I avoid reading," "I only read when I'm required to," "I don't like books," etc. I've been in entirely too many classes like this. And all I have left to say is this:
WHEN PEOPLE DON'T READ, IT MAKES LEVAR BURTON CRY.
