fall into the gap

Wondrous Weekend:  This weekend in Indy was a ton of fun.  Had a fantastic dinner on Friday at Maggiano's with Joyce, Deb and my mom.
Delicious steak and a superb merlot to go with it.  And one of the best damn pieces of chocolate cake I've ever had.  Coupled with an incredible chocolate martini.  *drools*

Shopped on Saturday at a variety of places, including a stop in this little town called Zionsville that has this adorable Main Street with
a bunch of little specialty shops.  And a great brunch on Sunday - three-egg omelette with tomatoes, monterray jack and cheddar cheese, and breakfast potatoes.

It was really great to have this weekend outing - I needed a break, and I got a really great one with good food, great company and a lot of laughter.  :)

Retail Therapy:  Thought I'd share some pictures of some of the goodies I got over the weekend.  :)

Saturday evening, we were at a mall because Joyce and my mom wanted to get their Crate & Barrel fix, LOL, and I also stopped in the Gap, where I got this shirt.

I also got this lovely sweater.  I love cable-knit sweaters.

I actually got this on Friday.  When my mom and I got to Indy, we went to this Barnes & Noble where she and Joyce usually agree to meet up when they both come into town.  Found this book while perusing the shelves.  Am already about 120 pages into it, and it is utterly fantastic.  It's written from the point of view of Elizabeth I, herself.  I love this time period, and I've always been fascinated by her, in particular, so this book is just enthralling me.  The author writes beautifully and it's obvious she really knows her history incredibly well.  Historical fiction FTW.

Okay, so I didn't actually get this over the weekend; I finally got around to buying a pair of Toms last week, and they got here yesterday.  I think the bags are cute.

These are the ones I got.  They fit perfectly, and holy god, are they ever comfortable.  I'm seriously bummed that it's almost winter, since I wouldn't be able to wear these in really cold weather.  I wore them today when I went out to go downtown for my Lit class, and they're just as comfortable walking on cement - the base doesn't feel too thin or hard or anything.

What the insides look like.  I really like them.  I may end up getting another pair eventually.

Well, that's all for now.  New episode of House in about 15 minutes, and then I have to go back to working on my Consumer Behavior midterm.  I hope you're all doing well!  :)
