The title of my entry is the quote I've been hearing on the radio for the past few mornings - XRT has been advertising for this weekend's Saturday Morning Flashback - from 8 until noon, they pick a year every Saturday and play nothing but music from that year. Tomorrow, the year is 1969. So they've been running bits and pieces of music from '69 and, understandably, the quote I'm using here, which was said by Wavy Gravy when he first greeted the nearly half-million strong crowd on the second (or third?) morning of Woodstock.
It makes me smile every time I hear it. I watched the Woodstock documentary a few weeks ago with my parents, which is amazing, for any of you who haven't seen it. But yes, that's one of my favorite quotes from the film. That, and when Stephen Stills (CSNY) said, "This is only our second time playing in front of people, man, we're scared shitless!"
Favorite scene: during the opening credits, the shot of a group of nuns walking by, and the one who turns and looks at the camera, smiles and flashes the peace sign.

The Weekend: Tomorrow morning, I'm getting up at 9AM. Voluntarily. Because I'm treating myself to breakfast at the Medici. Three-egg-omelette, Medici coffee, and breakfast potatoes, yo.
Tomorrow evening, I'm driving up to the north side and meeting Oriana, because she's treating me to a play, for my birthday. The Neo-Futurists' special Chicago Gay Pride Week production of 30 Queer Plays in 60 Straight Minutes.
(Lisa, it's really too bad you're not here now to go with. Imagine the LOLZ of telling your mom you went to a ZOMG GAY!PLAY with me. Hahahahahaha! ;D )
Sunday: YAY BIRTHDAY!! AND YAY BIRTHDAY BUDDIES! Lizzy and Erin, I hope you guys have a wonderful birthday! I love you!
Sunday evening, I'm heading up north again, and having dinner at
The Grafton with Oriana and Gaby. Which I'm looking forward to so much. Two of my oldest friends, at a lovely, cozy little pub that has wonderful food. :)

I leave you with some pictures. :) Can you tell I'm having fun playing with my new camera? Hehehe.
My birthday card from Lisa that I got yesterday. I love it! ♥♥♥♥
Also received yesterday from the lovely Lisa. THANK YOU!!!! :D
The card I found on my desk at work this afternoon. Pretty lettering courtesy of Nikki, who is awesome.
Awww. I love my place of work. The people there are so nice. And hehe, it's a bit hard to see because it's sideways in this picture, but on the very right-hand edge of the card, Nikki's message: "Have a very Elf-ish birthday!"
She told me today at lunch that later this summer or in early fall, she's taking me to the
Morton Arboretum and she's going to do a photoshoot (she's an artist - photography and paintings) of me with a pair of professional quality elf ear tips. She's insisting on it, and I can't turn something like that down. :D :D :D :D
My dry-erase calender right now. :D
My lovely new purse, courtesy of Urban Outfitters, that I got a couple weeks ago.
Aaaand, that's all, folks! Hope you're all well! Much love. :)
