[Fic] a study in contrasts (Eden/Gabriel, Chandra)

Mar 10, 2007 18:45

Title: a study in contrasts
Author: oregonblondie
Fandom: Heroes
Characters, Pairing: Eden/Gabriel Gray, brief mentions of Chandra
Warnings/Rating: Erm, PG-13. So, mentions of teh schmex.
Summary: Written for gossy_16 who requested it at heroes_wanted. I'm not sure how close to the mark I hit; I really just wanted to write some form of Eden/Sylar. Prompt given is under the cut.

I have this idea in my head that while Chandra Suresh was working with Gabriel Gray, friendly helpful neighbor Eden ran into Gabriel multiple times, and I would absolutely love to read a piece of fic in which they befriend each other. You know, before poor Gabriel completely loses his marbles and all.

I think it could be clumsy and cute and adorkable and even possibly quite angsty. So, yes, that's what I would love to read right now. :)

he sees her talking to Chandra, arms loaded in paper bags of groceries (white teeth, dark hair; a study in contrasts).

be a gentleman, help her inside (genetics can wait for a conversation this conversation. let’s talk about the weather (like we’re two of the normal ones).

i’ll see you later. (smile & just ignore the shiver down your spine. excitement; fear)

+

chandra’s not here (texas, i think). a cup of coffee maybe? (this is the start of the story you were never supposed to know)

he spills his coffee on her jacket (this is just like a bad romantic comedy) and let’s go back to your apartment.

want to stay for another cup of coffee. (only if you promise to to pour it all over my chest again.)

+

she’s little (easy to hold up). he likes to run his tongue along her collarbone, peeking out from a sweater (this can’t lead to anywhere good).

she wakes up (too early) with sticky thighs and bruised wrists (there’s something wrong in the room). everything aches.

he leaves a note “sorry” (this is where things are bound to turn sour).

+

chandra’s back in town (the classical music is as sure a sign as anything else). she goes over for more chai (dependency’s a sure sign of weakness) and sees him in the background.

watch his shoulders tense and no she can’t stay for a cup now. thanks anyways.

she’ll stop him trying to sneak out. “stay” and of course he does (a note to the gentle reader: she didn’t even have to try).

+
she remembers something she never had good timing as his hand slides between her legs. she doesn’t know his name (and she never told him her’s).

later at dusk; somehow they ended up asleep (don’t tell: she decides it’s better not to ask).

bless me father, for I have sinned.
