maybe its just bad timing

so. my interview for european quarter didnt go as well as i would have liked. well first of all, it wasnt even a real interview. this is what is was like:

"so, your allergies might be a problem over in berlin."
"well, i take medication and they never really bother me that much, i should be fine."
"your a freshman, thats bad. i see your a nursing major, why not go to costa rica with the nursing program?"
"i plan on applying to study there also when i'm a senior."
"oh i see. you have a really good gpa, thats good.... blah blah blah...well i just have to be brutally honest with you. i have to choose 30 people out of 44 and upperclassmen get priority as well as language majors and european studies majors. i really want to take you and i loved reading about you. you seem like you'll do great over there...but i just have to review everyone."

so that is the jist of it. there was more in between and after and everything. and he was actually really cool about the whole thing. he said he could tell i'd be good in an interview so he didnt want to waste time with that-it was only 5 minutes long. it just really wasnt what i was expected. the professor and leader i know is really random and kind of out there. hes a really cool guy i like him he's pretty funny in class and everything. but i just wish that they wouldnt look at age as much as qualifications. it doesnt seem fair to me. but its not a definate no, i find out for sure in about 2 weeks or so. i just really want to experience this but i know that if i dont go next year i will be over there for sure soon. but its out of my hands right now, i just have to wait.

anyway...6 weeks left of the quarter after this one.pretty soon i'll be home, going to alex's lake everyday, working like crazy, and not doing school. i love being here but a break sounds so nice right now.

off to study and whatnot. i feel like a strawberry milkshake.

xoxo
