My final visit to Somerville
For those who don't know or have been out of the loop, I've moved to Atlanta, I'm engaged, and I'm selling my house (well, Condo) in Somerville. I have a signed Purchase and Sale agreement and closing is scheduled for August 17. My fiancée and I will be flying up to Boston for a 24-hour whirlwind trip Aug 11-12 to clean up and finish emptying out the house, either by taking staging materials to goodwill, giving them away, or packing them up to take back to Atlanta. I expect the cleanup to take a few hours.
I don't know how much time we'll have to see people. We want to go to RedBones for dinner so we probably wont be able to do a large dinner gathering. If you want to stop by the house and say hi or help us pack (or drive us to Goodwill) that would certainly be welcome. Depending on how quickly we get everything emptied and broom-swept we might have time for visitations.
At some level it's kinda sad -- I spent the last 20 years of my life in the Boston area (14 of them in this house). But I look forward to bigger and better things to come.
I'll miss all of you Boston area friends. I'll try to make it up to visit periodically (probably for Tech Reunions ever few years or something), and you all are welcome to come visit Atlanta.
