For many years I've contracted with
Jeppesen for updates to my GPS. For all those years I've been using a PCMCIA device to program the GPS cards which required me to reboot into Windows to run their win32-only software. A few years ago they introduced a
USB-based solution but I didn't want to pay $150 (a second time -- I had to pay $150 for the PCMCIA solution) to change over. Well, I waited long enough. Jepp decided to discontinue support of their PCMCIA solution and as a result sent me to USB device free. I used it for the first time today, from a Win32 VM! So I win. Not only did I save $150, but I also no longer need native win32.
Whee!
