30 Day Challenge Baldur's Gate (as also posted on my *GASP* tumbler)
I've already posted two days of this on my tumbler, so you get an extra day today! Lucky you people who don't even know WTF I'm talking about :P
30 days Baldur's Gate 1 Challenge
1.Describe your Bhaalspawn
I have two I play all the time: Anahit the chaotic good Halfling thief and Kora the neutral good Half Elf bard.
Anahit wants to do good, really she does. It’s just that well…. some people piss her off and end up dead plus she keeps on adding evil people to her party and hence can’t show up in some towns… Though Dorn and Viconia are really awesome people and why do people keep backing away from them in fear? Pfft, whatever. Let’s go see what that house has just laying around! If her reflexes of 20 (that was a awesome magic book!) don’t keep her from being killed her charm of 19 will!
Why yes, Anahit DOES get all the magic books that boost skills. Why waste them on someone else?
Secretly Anahit wants to figure out WTF her father was that makes her big for a Halfling (4’10”). Is there something in the water? Because that guy who killed her father was pushing seven feet…
Kora manages to do better in terms of reputation, though her mouth is always getting her into trouble and attempting to keep Edwin from being killed is starting to put a strain on her. It doesn’t help that her best friend was killed on the way to the mines and somehow exploded into dust. Luckily she can talk her way out of trouble, which is a useful skill to have with Edwin and Shar-Teel threatening everyone and Xan whining about how doomed they are. Come on people, look alive! We’re about to storm the bandit camp! Maybe I’ll find some good books, why does everyone keep on making me leave those behind? Her charm and intelligence helps to keep her out of trouble both in and out of the battlefield. Her strength sure could use some work though….
Secretly Kora just wants to build a library somewhere and live in it for the rest of her life.
(The beyond awesome *artastrophe drew the portraits. I am highly OCD about CHARNAME needing to look like they fit into the game and *artastrophe has also done an NPC replacement pack. You can’t tell from the two pictures up there but each picture has a personality to it, I just happen to love the ‘innocent starter Bhaalspawn’ look for the first game and that ended up with both of them looking the same, hahaha. I might also post the starter stuff for my two girls for BG2 at the end of the challenge so you can see them more matured)
2.Favorite BG1 Class/Kit
CLERIC! I love the fact that they are healing tanks and attempt to have two in my party once I hit BG2. It also helps that my clerics all seem to love snarling at one another in that game :P I would have made Anahit into a Cleric, but Halflings can’t get high wisdom and WTF is up with making it only 16 MAX people? *grumble grumble hiss*
But yes, it’s one of the few RPGs in which the healer can take a hit. Unlike all those OTHER games in which the healer is some stick of a girl who just whines about flowers or something before taking a hit from a small rock and going down. Nope, healers in BG ARE mostly female, but they’re females that will pull out a mace and bash your brains out.
