Soooo...Samhain was pretty awesome! I donned an eye mask and a featherboa tail and went to a Samhain Party/ritual hosted by Radical Faeries. It was my first group pagany thing since Ostara with The BrotherHood. It was pretty cool-I don't think they offer enough to sustain me, but I enjoyed myself. The rit was led by a pretty cool guy named Shimmer, who also happens to be a Feri Priest (he invited me). He's a pleasure to talk to and he was very sweet, with enthusiasm for the dramatic, which Rad Faery rit seems to call for. It felt really good to be witchy with a crowd, and I realized how much i missed connecting with other people in that way (How Vodou connects people in a group seems to be very different from the way The Craft connects people in a group).
Fet Gede (Basically, Haitian Vodou's Day of the Dead) was this past weekend (actually, it was Tuesday, but was celebrated this weekend) There were SOOOOOO many people. I was basically danced and sat on all night! At one point, a guy was practically grinding his crotch in my face. I just kind of went with it... :) The Gede are kind of sexy spirits of Death...they represent a kind of "i'm already dead-the rules don't apply" attitude. I was pretty successful in staying out of their way, although later on Papa Gede made sure I had enough to eat...he said something else, but no one was around to translate for me, so I'll just pretend it wasn't some variation of "don't be such a stick-in-the-mud". Fet Gede was a combination of exhiliration and anxiety for me. I'm really not much of a huge crowd person. Maybe I'll just stick to serving the spirits at home for awhile. I don't know...I'll sit with this for awhile...I have til January to decide.
Also, I'm supposed to be writing about some witchy stuff...and uploading to LJ...we'll see how all of that goes...maybe by the end of the week...
Plus, I'm going to try for School again in January! Fall Semester...didn't work out...but it wont knock me off my game plan.
So yeah..that's me
