So I've been in the Boston area for nearly two months now. Things have been pretty tough out here, but no tougher than they were in Michigan, to say the least. Ahem.
Anywho...I currently am staying in transitional housing in Waltham...its pretty cool. Quiet. I'm getting ready to go to school in the fall. Just community college. But its at least something to look forward to. Honestly, I have only recently started looking for work. Before I left, I was diagnosed with something pretty devastating. And I had to get the situation under control b4 I was mentally ready to enter a work environment. Had an interview recently. I have another one tommorow-and may even do one of those walk in things on Wednesday.
I've been going to therapy too. Which has been helping me alot. I didn't even realize I was in therapy until I was already going. Lol.
The whole thing about New England folks being "colder"? I will say this-you can always tell the difference between a tourist and someone born and raised in New England! Plus, it took me a minute to realize why many of the churches and cemeteries were like from the 1600's. DUH! It's New England! lol
Spiritually...I've been roughly "affiliated" with a Vodou House in Mattapan. I'm not formally a member yet. it will be quite some time before I (and the house members) will make that decision. I'm good with that. Plus, I'm watching things...making sure that I don't fall into the same patterns that I have in the past. As for paganism/witchcraft...to be technical, I'll always *be* a Witch, even if i don't practice (althought recently I went into my spiritual tools for a sec). However, I don't know if I can even go there right now behind how significant connections fell apart for me back in Michigan. Couple that with a couple of really HURTFUL interactions with pagans...and lets say the bad taste hasn't quite went away. I'm in no hurry...I'm taking my time with ALL of this.
So yeah...I think i covered everything in my usual scatter brained way. Giggle. :)
More details to come later!
