So I finally saw the 11th movie...

And I still can't figure out for the life of me why people compare Zero to Jirarudan.

They both have airships. They both value solitude. And that's really about it. Sure there's the science part, but that hardly plays into Jiri's character at all (at least what they actually say/get into in the film).

Even the solitude is different. Jirarudan's personal world is passionate and open, while Zero's is claustrophobic and soulless (seriously, is EVERYTHING in that ship as closed-in as the hallway?).

Zero struck me as being more of a cross between Cyrus (without the vague, heartless compassion) and...um...Ultimecia from Final Fantasy 8 (if you don't know why, play the game. Or, since she only appears at the end, look up her battle text). There's a dash of Jiri in there for what I mentioned, and also a bit of Eusine, but mostly the other two.

And now on that note, we're going to discuss something else that concerns three of those characters and someone else as well, but there's spoilers for Platinum version.

I realized that there's four major opposing forces that seek their own private worlds--Jirarudan, Molly Hale, Cyrus, and Zero. Yet at the ends of their plots, they all lose theirs...with the exception of Platinum-verse Cyrus. He ATTAINS his, remains there, and it's seen as punishment.

Also, even though all of them threaten the outside world with their wants, only Zero is arrested. And only Molly gets an unquestioningly happy ending (Jiri's ending could be bittersweetly happy if you think he actually learned something, but it's never said if he realized what he had done or not)--heck, Molly's allowed to play around in the garden with her new Teddiursa. Granted she's probably going to be severely screwed up for life, but hey.

I just find the contrasts between their fates to be interesting, because in the end only one got his personal world and he had to abandon his goals to do so. Molly got the things back that she'd wanted, but it was no longer HER world.
