Hey guys,
I just wanted to take a moment to let you guys know about a very important benefit hockey game I will be participating in.
A woman, Marie Bennett, used to play in my hockey league and was seriously injured in a car incident recently after picking up her two children and one of their friends from school. It was the first snow storm of the season and she lost control of her vehicle and slid into oncoming traffic and was struck by a semi. Tragically all three children passed away. Marie slipped into a coma and remains hospitalized.
The Tornados will be hosting two benefit hockey games on saturday, Dec.10th at 2:30 & 3:15pm at the Taylor Sportsplex (located at Telegraph and Northline)in an effort to help raise money for her and her husband. Anyone who would like to show their support is invited to the game for a very small minimum donation of $2.00. Yes that is two dollars, larger donations are greatly welcomed, every little bit helps.
I personally will be participating in the game along with a few of my teammates from the Flames. Anyone who would like to come cheer us on is greatly welcomed and encouraged, it is for a great cause. If you cannot afford to make a donation or attend the game, all I ask is that you keep Marie and her family in your prayers.
Thanks guys. :)
