Now we are caught up: "MacPherson."

The fscking HELL.

Which is to say, if I pick a plot-structure nit here and there it's a side issue compared to the general winningness of the story's emotional impact.

During the MacPherson-goes-bad flashback, it wasn't completely clear to me that other people's deaths were a known, direct cause of using the Phoenix. Which confused me a bit when ( Read more... )

And a truly awkward question: why didn't they just plop him in the Phantom Zone Bronze Sector fifteen years ago instead of diddling around with regular prisons? ("Um. We wanted a kick-*ss season finale.")

That's what I was wondering as well, but at the time he probably didn't seem like that big of a threat. They were wrong.

I couldn't believe the team kept cheerfully using keys and opening boxes and putting on glasses that MacP had left lying around for them to find. Kept expecting one of their heads to explode or at least a case of possession. You never know when an Evil Overlord will decide he's toyed with you long enough.

Yeah, I was also wondering when somebody would get head-shotted. Haha.

"In case someone found this place and could somehow reverse the process." Somehow. By, for instance, using the large conspicuous gadget stored 15 feet from the statues with the large clearly labeled "reverse process" and "release" buttons. Once again I question Warehouse security procedures.

Indeed, same here. I know if I got in there and saw Hitler all "bronzed up", I'd quite possibly have to reverse the process. >__>

The big emotional money shot, Artie in the explodo-tunnel. He clearly had something in his pocket and time to use it. Which if it wasn't the Phoenix, what the heck was it? I expected to see MacPherson shrivel to dust from Artie using the thing. Or Pete and Myka shrivel to dust. Or Artie realize that they would shiver to dust and consciously refuse to use it. That would be most in character.

Lol, I love that nickname -- the "explodo-tunnel". Fits.

And as for the MacPherson bit, he can't be killed by it as he's already touched (and used) it. Anybody that's touched it can't be affected by it. But I do agree that the most in-character thing Artie could do is not use it, but thanks to a bunch of spoilers from Jack Kenny, I'm pretty sure he did (although we'll see for sure next season).

I don't know you, but I credit you that your plans for an un-defrosted Hitler would include alternating uses of torture equipment and an ICU crash cart for the maximum of time feasible.

They'd include lots of interrogations and the use of an artifact that steals somebody's knowledge or something. I wouldn't let him leave the Warehouse or get near his microphone; I'm not that insane.
