(no subject)
So, I've been away for a while. Without any tv stations in the apartment and no internet as of yet, I feel rather secluded. I've watched the same DVDs multiple times, I've actually pretty much memorized downloaded radio talk show segments. Sad, huh?
Work has been absolutely crazy. I've subbed 4 of the last 5 days this week. I'm sure it would have been all 5 days had I been in town when they needed me. Even though they increased my hours by 2 hours a day for the summer, it still feels like it's not enough, and I know it isn't. That's why I've been relying on the sub jobs. I've been getting a whole lot, pretty much since I'm one of the only subs not taking classes this May/summer, and one of the only ones who can be in at any time, which is an advantage. I know Friday's paycheck will be rather nice compared to my past ones...I've been definitely pulling the hours. I've got to be selective with this check though, since rent's due on the 1st and since my sister and I are going to the Cubs-Braves game in Atlanta on the 9th, this time it's my time to pay. I don't think I'll be too strapped for money, though. As long as I can make it past the 9th, I'll be ok.
I've really been contemplating on a big purchase. Not a house or a new car, but a laptop. I've got a desktop, which is great, but it's rather inconvenient when I want to check email and have access to messengers, my music, pictures, etc. I've been looking around a little bit, but I'm really not sure which to select. I think my budget will be in the ballpark of $850, which I know will really narrow down what I can/can't get.I've seen some nice ones on the Best Buy website, but I'm still undecided as to what I should get. Since the JSU campus and many places around town have wireless internet, it'll be nice to have around when I'm waiting on laundry to finish up or if I'm between classes/work. Does anyone have any suggestions?
