QUARTER FINALS - IT'S NEARLY OVER!

If someone else was running LOTY and they declared that they'd spent £20 on a trophy, even if you were a front runner for that trophy, you fully well know that you would claim that they had just wasted £20. "You could have spent that twenty quid on a booze prize!" is what you would say. Come on Andrew! Be objective about these things, for once!

Hmm, I wonder if Stephen Fry might have to be controversially disqualified for some reason or other.

For being homosexual, perhaps?

You'd be throwing your money away. I'm looking a bit shaky against Phillipa Forrester, although that might just be a dream I had a few years ago.

Those are good odds, aren't they. I wonder if the Random Fixtures Computer will draw him against me in the semi-final. The Random Fixtures Computer has given me two suspiciously easy draws in this round and the last, I can't help noticing.

The fact that I've behaved like an utter c#nt all year has probably raised the odds a bit.

I imagine the odds on me drawing Stephen Fry and you drawing a gung-ho Scottish baggage handler are pretty high.

rhodri, I think you may have misunderstood the nature of probability. Other than you, there are 3 remaining semi-finalists, therefore you have a one in three chances of drawing each of them. The only thing that might interfere with this would be some kind of contemptible and desperate attempt on my part to fix the draw.
