Though Squall managed to gain a nice surprise attack, the thugs were quick to assess the danger and began to take the fight more seriously. He managed to gain most of the attention of the thugs, allowing for Anders to continue with his rescue mission. He took the second fireball as another distraction, and cut down a few more thugs as they tried to avoid the blast. However, Squall was having some trouble keeping up with so many targets at once, not to mention he was still recovering from the first encounter. A few thugs got in some blunt hits and a couple of blades manged to give him a few nasty cuts, but Squall kept them from making any life-threatening hits.
Squall's goal was to cut through the underlings and interrogate whoever seemed to be in charge, but making that distinction was difficult. He also never intended to give Anders any sort of back-up, but the two seemed to make a pretty efficient team. He shot an emotionless glance in Anders direction as he took down one of their opponents with his staff, and shrugged slightly as his gunblade clanked against another thug's sword. He released the trigger, and firing a shot at the man, and knocking his limp body against another of the thugs.
"This is taking too long..." Squall grumbled as he tried to bull-rush past the group towards a man who seemed to be shouting orders.
