[The feed cut in to the bottom half of a man's face. His mouth is twisted into a grimace of concentration, and for a few long moments he seems to be only fiddling with buttons. Then, a look of realization! He rights the camera and it focuses on his face]

Is this... recording me?

[It takes a few moments for the idea to settle. A bare bitter smirk ( Read more... )

[Well, Buffy's got The Talk covered, so.]

Hello. What's your name?

You may call me Anders.

And who might you be, stranger?

My name's Merlin.

Are you all right, Anders? Hurt or wounded at all? [Inmates generally aren't but there's a first time for everything. :c]

It's nice to meet you, Merlin. Well, maybe I should re-word, considering the circumstances... [a small, bitter laugh]

It is kind of you to check, but I'm fine. Quite capable of taking care of myself, actually. I've experience with healing.

Oh, well, that's....good. [Ever so slightly cautious because this possibly means 'I have experience with being injured'.]

Where are you from?

Yes, my patients did seem to think so as well. Though my services were free-- I doubt they would have complained even if I were to mend them with fishing line and a hook, so perhaps that is not a good mark to judge by.

Most recently I was in a place called Kirkwall, though it would surprise me greatly if you recognize the name.

I don't, I'm sorry. A lot of people come from different lands, or different worlds completely. You might have already been told about that.

I didn't expect any differently.

And you? Where did you come from?

Camelot. A kingdom of Albion. I've been living here for a long time now, though.

More unfamiliar names, unfortunately. Though I did understand the 'kingdom' bit.

A lot of the people here don't have kings any more. Or, they don't have any real power. [constitutional monarchies what]

Do you need anything? Any questions?

Actually, I was wondering if there was some manner of guide book for new arrivals. There seems to be a lot of things I need to be privy to in order to be comfortable here.

I'm afraid without some kind of written guide I'm going to hopelessly irritate you all with questions you've likely heard a thousand times before.

I think Chromie was working on something, but I'm not sure where she's keeping it...

Really, though, if you have questions then I don't mind answering. I might have heard it all before but it's still new to you. It won't irritate me.

Well, if you insist...

At what time should I be expecting meals? Where is it I should be waiting to be fed? Or am I expected to cook for myself? I wouldn't mind that terribly, it's just that I have this funny feeling us' inmates' wouldn't be trusted with the sharp, scalding, or otherwise dangerous things that we would require to cook.

Oh, well, the dining hall is on the first floor - the floor just below deck. [Assume he says when exactly meals are served because ahahaha I don't know :c] And actually, inmates do most of the cooking, if their wardens are alright with them joining one of the shifts.

Is that so? And what of us inmates who've yet to be assigned a nanny? Are we permitted in the kitchen as well?
