Word of mod; advanced notice. We're moving!
We're planing on moving the community over to dreamwidth sometime in late January or early February.
We are doing this because frankly, the ability to moderate the community has been hit so hard i the last 12 months even ghostcrawler would think it has been nerfed too much. Our Russian overloads are neither kind nor merciful.
There are some glitches being worked out in the code that prevent moving 100,000+ comment communities, which we happen to be, so an exact date has not yet been finalized. I'll post here when it does.
So what will change? Almost nothing. Your mod team will be able to work a lot more effectively than we can currently. All your posts will be carried over. You'll still own them. You can still post using your LJ ID (but dreamwidth accounts are free at the moment, so why not sign up in preparation, and DM message me. It's rantinan there too.)
Then what happens next?
Well we're not going to keep this floating. Once everything has been confirmed as successfully imported, we'll be nuking the membership list as it stands and putting WCS into permanent hibernation mode. No new posts will be made to the community on LJ.
