Word of mod: Earthly morality has no place here

Jan 08, 2012 23:38

Dear everyone.
As last night's drama has demonstrated, it seems some things need clarifying, so here goes.

1) Just cause it's erp, that don't make it bad rp (or good rp for that matter but "blaitent erper" ALONE is not candidacy for sue hood. Most of the ERP bait we get is also terribly lore breaking, freaky hybrids, funky hermaphrodites, or crushing god modders who tell you how much you cant take your eyes off them.)

2) Just cause you don't like the persons actions, or behavior, or wardrobe don't make it bad RP.

3) Your moral judgement doesn't make it bad RP.

4) Use a cut. One pic to start a post is usually fine. Including image macros in line is DEFINITELY NOT.

Since some of you may be too new to recall what happened the last time people decided to project their personal morality into WCS, let me remind you that a pile of people got banned.

I'll be blunt. A recent post has been deleted due to the moralizing and aggrandizing taken on by the OP. . We actually spent quite a while deciding if we were going to delete it and would have locekd that, only LJ has taken that feature away too. The reason we were going to keep is that the responses were seriously impressive. In particular the mod team would like to thank gizzybiscuts and dakoura for posting what they have posted.

I will re post Dakoura's comment here as it sums things up very nicely.

First off, just because you have a small bosom does not mean every other female on the plant has to and it does not make larger ones a curse (Unless we're talking about JJ sized or something). At 5'6", DD sized breasts do happen naturally, and usually on the frame of someone with the musculature to handle it. Also, you say you would never curse your characters with larger chest, but have you noticed that some of the races in WoW are designed to have larger breasts, just so they seem proportionate to their larger builds? Look at a Tauren female model. I guarantee you those puppies are a D at the least.

Secondly, marriage does not instantly change your entire wardrobe to that of a nun and it doesn't make it illegal to hang your body out there. If that's what someone wants to do, that's their business.

Third, having an overly sexualized flag does not automatically make a player male. We all say that men are the ones writing hyper-sexual flags (and maybe they are, I don't know, I haven't seen any legitimate data on the subject), but unless you know that player, you can't actually say with any certainty that they're male. There's a good change that's a female on the other end of that keyboard. Maybe she's exaggerating her build or just writing what she looks like. Who knows?

Personally, I think my biggest problem with the first flag in relationship to her age. NElf/Human hybrids are... what? 10-15 years old at the most? I would advocate that the person knock the hybrid part off and pick either Human or NElf, then continue on their merry way.
