Just a tip for the player: Not all ideas are good, creative ideas. Ideas that might sound good in your head sometimes don't work out so well in practice ( Read more... )

Oh my...

I... honestly can not think of anything else to say. But the mental image is still burning itself into my brain. That might be why.

You may be pure evil for sharing this.

Watching the terrible RP (and OOC butthurt) that godawful character idea spawned actually put me off of Horde RP for the night, it was really just that bad.

That's quite a feat, considering 7/10 of my characters on Moon Guard are HORDE.

The concept was bad, the execution was even worse, and just...no. Kudos for "trying something new" or whatever, but it stinks.

I'm out doing some IC cloth farming on my perpetually angry Nelf mage.

It's helping quite a bit. :D

I kind of like the title of Lord of Snuggling, if it's meant in a cutesy OOC way.

But, um, a lemur?

Just...no.

Titles I tend to ignore as most people (myself included) tend to use them for little mini-jokes, wordplay, etc...so I figure nobody really takes them seriously most of the time anyway.

The rest of it though...yeah, no.

Just.../facepalm

Yeah, plus, if someone IC proclaims themselves the Lord of anything, and their character isn't insane...it's kind of like getting a Mary Sue tramp stamp.

I always kind of liked the idea of playing a character who was under the delusion (pick your reason as to why) that they WERE, in fact, say, heir to a throne somewhere, or lord of a small kingdom, or some high ranking noble, or a world wide wanted master assassin, etc...and having them steadfastly believe it and be utterly, utterly confused as to why everyone around them thought they were crazy or a con man or something. If not that in depth, something along the lines of Topper from Dilbert.

But, in an MMO setting, that sort of character wouldn't work well and I know I'd get really sick of all of the OOC ((LOL ur not next in line for the throne of Stormwind, moron! l2lore!)) junk I'd have to be perpetually clarifying for those who don't bother to read MRP profiles or who don't have the addon.

It's bad enough when I have to explain that "lore mistakes" my characters make during IC conversation (or, even better, them having an interpretation of $ICevent/$LoreEvent that's 'not right') aren't the result of me not knowing the lore, but ( ... )
