Er, flirtatious in whatever forms whenever or not, does he think his character will have any luck not looking creepy with that shtick outside of Darknest? If a giant cat runs up to me waggling its brows and going 'heeeeeeey behbeh' I'm going to wonder who put crack in my cereal.
Blablabla tribal tattoos, shirtlessness, I WANNA TAKE YOU TO A GAY BAAAWWRRR written on his forehead for all to see for no reason, playful yet stoic yet flirty - comes off more as meh and another dumb character than a sue to me.
The sexual orientation in flag is one of my bigger peeves, but given that he specifies "mature RP", it could just be a case of finding compatible stuff for ERPz~.
I don't feel that sexual orientation needs to be in a flag, or even in an introduction to a character in a story, eg. "This is (name) and s/he is gay." Let's find out through RP or reading, shall we? That's much more fun. I agree with what other comments have said and suspect that it's more to advertise what kind of ERP he's into.
When I read a flag written in past tense like this, I amuse myself by adding my own bits to it, such as, "Subtly clefted chin sported a goatee that was verging unruly... until someone popped him one in the face one day and now it's a massive boil".
