Only recollection I have of "god mode healing" was people who were reverse griefing people who were trying to RP some portion of the Scourge Invasion. (People had to basically secret themselves away in remote spots because, if I recall, paladins were basically spamming Cleanse - while it was still effective - on people, even if they asked them politely to hold off for the sake of RP.)
