He stood in the shadows of the room he was supposed to meet Lex in, arms folded. "You call to discuss details?"

Lex sat forward in his chair, folding his hands over his desk. "There are a great deal of things that need to be taken care of before I can return to my life. But this is one of the more important ones." He studied the other man for a long moment.

"What is it you feel you can offer that others can't?"

"If you know anything about me, which you should, you know I'm the best at what I do," he stepped forward, pulling his sword from his holder. "I'm quick. And I'm impossible to kill."

"No one is impossible to kill, Slade." He regarded him a moment longer. "Some of us are just more indestructible than others."

The twitch in his mask indicated a partial smile. "Be that as it may, I've lived through things you could only dream of living through. But if you don't want me for the job, I have a list of other clients."

He studied him a moment longer. "Consider yourself hired," he said with a slight nod. He knew all about the man's past. And he knew exactly what Slade was capable of.

"Smart decision," he folded his arms. "You want Oliver Queen out of the picture."

"Permanently," he agreed, gazing at him steadily.

"You give me my fee and some information on his whereabouts and you'll never see the blonde billionaire again."

A smile tugged at the corners of his lips. "Currently he's in Star City. But I think this assignment will be best left for completion upon his return to Metropolis."

"Then wait I shall. It should be an easy kill." He began to pace slowly. "I know of his true status as the Green Arrow. It will be easiest to get him on patrol."

Pleased, he nodded in agreement. "Very well. And Slade?"

He stopped. "Yes, Mr. Luthor?"

"Make sure it's painful. This one is very personal to me."

"Please, Mr. Luthor, you insult me. Pain is my specialty."

Lex simply smiled.
