Is it the weekend already???
I can't believe it is already Saturday... and tomorrow is Sunday, May 14th, 2006. Mother's Day is celebrated then... and I have nothing to give my mom... except my love and a phone call.
It's hell being broke!
Got a few things done this past week... my computer is now dual-booted to two new OSes that I bought this past week. I had deciced to go legal instead of using a pirated OS to run my machines. I am now legal on ALL of my computers! :)
The first was (mistakenly) XP64 or Windows XP x64 Pro Ed. I wasn't paying attention to the order site when I bought it and managed to get an OS that won't work with my internet/virus protection programs. And since Mi¢ro$oft won't refund or exchange because it was already loaded up on my computer, I was stuck with it.
So... in order to get my condoms (internet/virus protections) to work with my computer, I bought the 32bit version of Windows XP Pro... and managed to get a sizable discount from the seller because I humbly whined and complained to them.
Now, I am up and running... and still haven't gotten everything reinstalled. :P So Office XP (that I got from the college) with Frontpage and Photoshop aren't installed either.
You may be wondering why I kept xp64 on my machine...? It runs ALL graphics programs with NO HITCHES at all. They switch out to the desktop and back with no hangups and run much much much better than on the 32bit system :) That, and since I did find 64bit drivers for all of my hardware, I will be able to network them as well...
But, the regular stuff like Email, surfing and downloading the once-in-awhile update and junk from the 'net will still be done in 32bit mode so I can have my condoms take care of any threats. Remember, safe sex is the same as safe surfing. You don't use protection, you never know what you could catch!
Do still have plans to get all of my 'sketches' from my art class up on the net this coming week... on www.furnation.com/Bakwuds (blatant plug) so you can check there later on. I have worked on a few other sketches, but mostly on homemade crafts (evil grin) and getting all of my stuff unpacked and repacked. I -am- here just temporarily until I get a cheaper place than before.
So sue me, Missouri has the lowest living costs in all of the states, next to Arkansas and lower Slobovia... but $375 a month plus utils is a trifle much when you don't make but $400 every two weeks... that sort of bill takes all your money and leaves you with only gas to get back to work with.
