Crying like a baby and generally moping around on Thanksgiving after work made up my mind for me that I'd be going to Keokuk on Saturday evening. My family doesn't get together like that often, and for them to be doing it in the same state? No no no, I couldn't take that. I told Will's family that night at Thanksgiving dinner that I needed to duck out of their family get-together early on Saturday, and they were perfectly fine with it.

Will's family thing happened in DSM, and we left for that Friday afternoon. Immediately I met nearly everyone on his mother's side. I was nervous, but everybody was so nice and welcoming and took me in with hugs even though they'd just met me.

We went to Jethro's BBQ for dinner that night and then hung out for a bit watching the Storage Wars marathon, but Richard and I left to go to Jordan Creek and try our luck at Target and Best Buy. The next day we had lunch at Will's uncle's place. One of the funny jokes that happened was that Will was giving out hugs (his older cousin yelled it throughout the house), and if you've ever met him you'll know he's fairly reserved and really not a hugger. XDDD Watching him suddenly become the center of attention like that with everyone laughing and smiling was hilarious. I think he secretly liked it. The food was delicious and I enjoyed hanging out with his relatives. So nice (>w<) Buuut I had to leave after eating, and three and a half hours later I was in Keokuk to see my own family.

Man, was it worth it. My cousins from Omaha were there, along with some of my Ottumwa family and my cousin's adoooorable daughter I talked about back in October. (She still loves me!!! :D) My usual family was there too <3333333 We did the annual bingo tradition that night, which I was completely unprepared for. This normally happens a couple of days after Christmas D: But maybe we're doing it now because it's not snowy yet? It doesn't matter, whenever we get together it's so much fun, everybody plays off each other and jokes around like most families do I suppose. I don't think this will ever change with us. (^^) After eating and bingo, those of us who stayed in the hotel hung out in Nancy's room and played Quelf - well, I didn't play it, I hung out in the jacuzzi with KC \:D/

Leaving today wasn't terrible, and even saying goodbye was okay. When it comes to driving I'm the luckiest of them all - I only had about an hour and a half to go :D

Now I have the apartment to myself for a few hours until Will gets off work. Time to microwave some leftovers!

I went to Target at midnight but it was RIDICULOUS. I had a basket of everything I wanted and then I saw the line wrapping around the aisles going halfway to the back of the store, so I gave up. Luckily, I found everything I wanted at the Jordan Creek Target that night around 8pm AND I didn't have to wait in any lines or deal with crazy people. :D
