loving my rare day off! <3
I have money, actual earned money for the first time since I got back to the States. Turns out I'm making the same rate I did before I left for Japan, which is even better because I've heard new hires get 50c less, and I wasn't sure how the company was going to deal with my rehiring. I've been living off tip money for the past two weeks since I started work again - working at a quick-service restaurant normally wouldn't make a person that many tips, but I've run into a fair bit of luck between people forgetting their tips and randomly finding a larger bill on the floor long after peak hours (which I split with my other on-duty coworker at the time :D), so I've been doing okay. With my first paycheck, it's difficult not to go out and treat myself but I've gotten used to the basics (read: strictly groceries) so I'm going to hang on a bit before I go to TJ Maxx or Victoria's Secret =P No, today I went and bought boring things like toilet paper, pads, soap, and a few food items. Necessities...
That, and I need gas money for this weekend when I go back to St. Louis. My mom wants me to come down on Thursday night so I can help out with the yard sale on Friday and Saturday morning. I'm not going to be getting in until 9 or 10pm if I do, and then she's going to make me wake up at 6am the next morning. This has no appeal to me whatsoever aside from the promise that I'll make the money on my items that get sold. I don't get many days to sleep in anymore though, so if I've got a weekend off I'd like to be selfish about it >/ I don't even want to go back but I need to get my things from Japan. Gahhhhhhh. It sucks living so far away in that respect.
But I've got today off, and I got to sleep in :D Will skipped his first class and we had a lazy morning together watching The Office and playing video games. It's been good. :D
